Meet Siobhan McCarthy: A Pluralistic Psychotherapist at Summit Counselling & Psychotherapy Swords
At Summit Counselling & Psychotherapy Swords, we know that finding the right counsellor is one of the most important steps on your journey. Every therapist brings their own style, training, and personality to the work—and sometimes, it’s that human connection that makes all the difference.
We’re delighted to introduce Siobhan McCarthy, MSc, who has recently joined our team here at Summit.
Who is Siobhan?

Siobhan is a qualified psychotherapist and counsellor with a Master’s degree in Pluralistic Counselling and Psychotherapy from the Irish Institute of Counselling and Psychotherapy, and a Bachelor of Honours in Social Care Work from Technological University Dublin. Her professional background combines deep training with a natural warmth and empathy that clients notice straight away.
Siobhan’s Approach

Siobhan believes therapy should never be a “one-size-fits-all” experience. As a pluralistic therapist, she works collaboratively with each client, tailoring the process to suit their unique needs, values, and life story. Whether you’re facing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma, grief, or simply feeling stuck, Siobhan will work with you to find an approach that feels right for you.
At the heart of her practice is the commitment to providing a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental space. Clients often describe this as the first place they’ve been able to fully breathe, reflect, and feel heard without pressure or expectation.
Why Work With Siobhan?

Choosing a counsellor is a very personal decision. What sets Siobhan apart is her ability to listen deeply, adapt flexibly, and bring compassion to every session. She understands that no two journeys look the same, and her goal is always to support you in finding your own way forward—whether that means building coping skills, exploring past experiences, or clarifying what truly matters to you.
